Description

Hume can seem pretty surreal at first—hundreds of campers, epic team competitions, cinematic camp themes, balcony-shaking music, and virtually endless activities, all at 5200 feet elevation in the national forest. But once you settle in you'll realize that it is actually very real—breakout groups with your peers and youth pastor, sunrise worship by lake, and a thousand simple moments where you notice the Gospel at play in your heart and all around you.

Hume truly is the best of both worlds where you can escape the regular routines of life while rediscovering all the things that a life in Christ provides. So welcome! Enjoy the big crazy moments and savor the quiet in between times where you can once again hear that still small voice.

2017 Theme: Forsaken

Too often we find our identity and worth in things other than the Lord. We choose not to obey or to fear the Lord but rather to serve whatever satisfies our desires. This summer we will examine the life of King Saul. Although, he was a man anointed by God, he chose to fear people and serve himself. Do our lives mimic his tragic downfall or will we reverently fear the Lord and desire to serve Him faithfully day in and day out?

This summer, our desire is for students to walk away from this week, desiring to fear the Lord and to serve Him faithfully with their lives.

– 1 SAMUEL 12:24
“Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.” (NIV)
